Founder & Product Strategy Lead

A software engineering leader with 20 years of experience building secure, user-centered products in regulated industries—most recently at Fidelity Labs, the innovation arm of Fidelity Investments. James also served on the Board of Directors for FND Hope International and remains a dedicated advocate for individuals living with FND.

Content & Community Lead

With a master’s in library and information science and 15 years in public libraries and nonprofit leadership, Amanda brings both structure and heart to her work. A former Executive Director of FND Hope US and current member of the FND Society’s Pediatric Special Interest Group, she leads research, content development, and community partnerships.

Diagnosed with FND in 2020, El brings lived experience and insight to everything we do. She’s currently studying Sociology at Northern Kentucky University, runs a personal blog focused on creative writing, and volunteers in the FND community with a special focus on supporting teens navigating their own FND journey.

Macie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Kentucky and brings experience in both personal training and healthcare recruiting. She’s passionate about helping others move well, feel strong, and find the right support on their wellness journey.

Yadira Velazquez, MD

Medical Advisor

Board-certified neurologist with deep expertise in Functional Neurological Disorder and a passion for integrative healing. Dr. Velazquez leads Science & Shamanism, blending ancestral wisdom with neuroscience to support recovery and vitality. She also serves on the SEI Board, advancing research in trauma-informed care.
